On Sat 15 Nov, Manchester Baroque unites some of the North’s finest period musicians for an evening of stunning virtuosity and unbridled musical vibrance with a performance of Bach’s breathtaking Brandenburg Concerto No. 2 at Hallé St Peter’s.

One of the composer’s most celebrated masterpieces, Bach’s totemic concerto stretches the concerto form to its limits, bringing solo trumpet, oboe, recorder and violin together in a dazzling dialogue with the orchestra to create a sound world bursting with harmonic creativity.

The programme also features Bach’s colourful Suite in B minor with Manchester Baroque’s flautist Martyn Shaw, alongside concertos by Vivaldi, Telemann and Handel that showcase the ensemble’s exceptional soloists, led by violinist Pauline Nobes alongside oboist Michael Niesemann, trumpeter Robert Vanryne and special guest on recorder, Yasaman Mashhouri. Together, they offer a richly woven journey through the Baroque era’s most brilliant voices, performed with spellbinding elegance and spirited precision.
