Open Contemporary Art Exhibition at Stockport Art Gallery

Selecting work from over 500 pieces made by over 300 regional and national artists, Stockport’s Open Contemporary Art Exhibition is nothing if not competitive. Now in its third year, exhibition is an annual event focusing on high-quality new contemporary art that is representative of the broad range being created in the UK today. To keep the exhibition truly contemporary and exciting, only new artwork that has been created in the last 12 months is accepted for display. With so many artists contributing, the exhibition not only offers a huge diversity in artists, but in disciplines featuring oil, watercolours, printing, sculpture, ceramics and textiles. It culminates in the finale event on Saturday 31 August when the Mayor and Mayoress of Stockport will be presenting the Visitor’s Choice Award and the Mayor’s Choice Award.
