Joe Thomas talks Inbetweeners at The Frog, Eleanor Morton headlines XS Malarkey, and there’s new stuff to kick off your week at Creatures.

Too Soon? at Creatures Comedy Club | Mon 19 Jan | 8.30pm | £3

New week, new stuff. Creatures Comedy Club welcomes some of their favourite acts to try out some new jokes on an unsuspecting audience. The Oldham Street basement club plays host to the city’s favourite comedians on the regular and it’s always having big names drop in to try new material. Worth a punt at £3.

Eleanor Morton at XS Malarkey | Tue 20 Jan | 7.30pm | £6/3

Eleanor Morton brings her latest work-in-progress show, The Mermaid, to XS this Tuesday, and regulars at the city’s favourite comedy night are in for a treat. After workshopping the show at Machynlleth and then Edinburgh Fringe Festivals, the new hour is already in incredible shape before she debuts it properly for a 2026/27 tour. Whimsy wrapped in world-weariness, Morton is always a treat.

Joe Thomas at The Frog & Bucket | Wed 21 Jan | 8pm | £19

As well as being one of the nation’s favourite comedy actors, Joe Thomas has added to that skillset with some cracking stand-up chops in recent years. Here, though, he’ll be paying tribute to the show that got him where he is (no not his inspired turn on series 8 of Taskmaster) as he talks all things The Inbetweeners to celebrate the acclaimed show’s 17-year anniversary.
