The Portico hosts a night of poetry and contemporary storytelling inspired by the mythic figure of Cressida this June.

The show is created by acclaimed performer Stephe Harrop, who specialises in irreverent spoken-word shows inspired by the mythic histories of Britain.

Another Stranger: Cressida’s Tale seeks to reclaim Cressida’s portrayal as fickle, false and heartless, tracing her journey across different eras and settings, from Mythic Troy and Medieval Scotland to Elizabethan London.

Calling upon a mixture of three accounts, Chaucer, Shakespeare, Henryson, Stephe rediscovers a Cressida for our own times: a girl with a gift for resilience and reinvention, rather than a byword for femme fatale.

Another Stranger: Cressida’s Tale comes to The Portico on Thu 4 Jun. Tickets are available now. Book yours below.
