Four Manchester restaurants have landed a place in the National Restaurant Awards’ Top 100 for 2026, once again reinforcing the city’s status as one of the UK’s most exciting, innovative culinary epicentres.
Unsurprisingly, Skof leads the pack at number 29, where Tom Barnes (pictured) has translated his L’Enclume pedigree into a polished, unstuffy tasting menu experience that has drawn glowing acclaim from the national press. Erst follows at 37, continuing to delight punters with its assured seasonal small plates and expertly selected natural wine programme in Ancoats. Higher Ground, the smash-hit concept from the Flawd team, claims the 39th spot thanks to its ingredient-led cooking and farm-to-table ethos, while Winsome enters at 67, earning recognition for its generous, nostalgic take on modern British hospitality.
Collectively, the Manchester quartet ranked above some of London’s most celebrated names including Brat, Kol, Sabor, Brawn, Kudu, Fallow, St. JOHN and Luca.
