An award-winning Manchester bookshop has announced an evening with former Prime Minister Gordon Brown in conversation with Carnegie Medal-winning writer Frank Cottrell-Boyce.
Simply Books, which was voted Independent Bookshop of the Year for the North of England at the 2025 British Book Awards, will bring the special evening to New Century on Thu 3 Sep.
The event will offer the rare chance for audiences to hear from one of Britain’s most recognisable political names, in conversation with a former UK Children’s Laureate.
Tickets start at £17.50, with the option to add a signed copy of Gordon Brown’s new book, The Future Starts with Us, the blurb of which reads:
‘The Future Starts With Us is more than a guide to our present turmoil. By uncovering and targeting the root causes, Brown offers a practical and hopeful roadmap to bring us back together, renew the global order, and set us on a more equitable and sustainable course.’
