Manchester institution Salvi’s launches new restaurant at Deansgate Mews

Manchester institution Salvi’s has unveiled a brand-new chapter in its 16-year history in the city, opening the doors to AMÒ along Deansgate Mews.

Described as a ‘smaller, more modern and spontaneous take on everything people already know and love about Salvi’s’, AMÒ gets its name from the Neapolitan slang for ‘My Love’.

The team say they want the new restaurant to be somewhere you can simply drop into, no bookings and no big occasion needed, whether it’s popping in for a coffee, sticking around for a spritz or visiting with friends later on in the evening. AMÒ is also an opportunity for Maurizio’s daughter Sienna Cecco to bring a new generation of the family into the mix.

At the heart of the daytime offering is fresh pasta cooked daily by chef Valentina, with a £10 lunch deal on offer. There’s no set menu; Valentina cooks what she wants each day, so you won’t know exactly what’s being served until you turn up. One day it could be a rich Neapolitan ragù, the next something completely different…so hopefully plenty of reasons to keep heading back.

To celebrate the opening, AMÒ is also serving 2-for-1 spritzes. You’ll also find plenty of familiar Salvi’s favourites, from Italian deli produce and sweet treats to Caffè Crema, gelato, affogato and proper Italian coffee.

AMÒ is open seven days a week, from 12pm ’til late.
