A brand-new stage adaptation of the cultural phenomenon, The Silence of the Lambs, is coming to Lowry this autumn.
Based on Thomas Harris’ gripping literary masterpiece, the world stage premiere is written by the award-winning Gina Gionfriddo and directed by the acclaimed Nikolai Foster.

The story follows FBI trainee Clarice Starling, who is sent to interview the psychiatrist and murderer Hannibal Lecter in the hope that he can help catch the sadistic new serial killer known as Buffalo Bill. Another girl is missing, and time is running out, but Dr Lecter has questions of his own, and now Clarice must decide whether to keep a safe distance, or let ‘The Cannibal’ into her head?

Heading to Salford from Tue 6 Oct – Sat 10 Oct, the electrifying, tension-filled adaptation sees actor John Partridge (EastEnders, Everyone’s Talking About Jamie, Cabaret) star as the notorious Hannibal Lecter.
Gionfriddo’s screenwriting credits include Law & Order, Law & Order: Criminal Intent (NBC), Cold Case (CBS), House of Cards (Netflix) and The Alienist (Netflix). Along with that already impressive list, her plays, Becky Shaw and Rapture, Blister, Burn, were finalists for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 2009 and 2013, respectively.
