Cornerhouse will host a post-screening discussion of Otto Preminger’s 1944 classic Laura on Wednesday 2 October. Part of Cornerhouse’s current film noir season, this one-off matinee event will feature a talk hosted by Maggie Hoffgen, a freelance film educator. Starring Gene Tierney, Dana Andrews and Clifton Webb, the film follows a police detective investigating the murder of a beautiful young advertising executive, Laura, who as the case develops, he starts to become infatuated by. Preminger’s masterpiece deals with themes of erotic obsession, jealousy and betrayal. The film is also screened on Sunday 29 September at midday. Watch the trailer below.
