Louder Than Words Fest ft Jah Wobble + Alan McGee at Palace Hotel

Louder Than Words, a new festival that celebrates oral, written and published words of music industry types launches at Manchester’s Palace Hotel this November. Created by veteran journalist, author and pundit John Robb and Jill Adam, those taking part include Tim Burgess (The Charlatans), Hugh Cornwell (The Stranglers), Jah Wobble (The PiL), CP Lee, Mick Middles and Alan McGee, the founder of Creation Records. The inaugural festival begins on Friday 15 November with Wicker Man Disco Inferno and a selection of poetry, and the day will conclude with John Robb’s Late Music Quiz. The weekend will continue with panel discussions that focus on subjects such as the future of writing in the music industry and a session called “Women in Rock”. It will also feature a presentation of the Wilko Johnson Writing Award, a celebration of the best new voices in the music industry, named after the guitarist from Dr Feelgood. The organisers of this event have received a grant of more than £14,000 from Arts Council England.
