Changing attitudes: James Lloyd’s The Pride ft Mathew Horne at Opera House

The multi-award-winning The Pride will be hitting the Opera House as part of its three-week tour in January. The play is director James Lloyd’s third production for the hit Trafalgar Transformed season in the West End. This thought-provoking, witty and deeply affecting play follows Philip, Oliver and Sylvia who exist in a complex love triangle set in 1958 and the present, against a background of changing attitudes towards homosexuality. The Pride has sets designed by Soutra Gilmour and stars Harry Haddon-Paton (Posh, Flare Path), Mathew Horne (Gavin and Stacey, The Catherine Tate Show), Naomi Sheldon (A Midsummer’s Night Dream, Sex With a Stranger) and Al Weaver (Coram, Hamlet). The production has been a critical hit and nominated for numerous awards during its run on the West End and follows Lloyd’s acclaimed The Hothouse, which starred Simon Russell Beale and his adaptation of Macbeth starring James McAvoy.
