Manchester Camerata’s dynamic leader Giovanni Guzzo steps into the limelight at the city’s Cathedral as director and soloist in Mozart’s fifth concerto for violin, in a progamme also featuring Mahler’s Adagietto from Symphony No.5 and Schubert’s String Quartet no.14  (Death and the Maiden), arranged for string orchestra by Mahler. Alongside this spirit-raising “Love and Death” programme, there’s also the chance to sample 26 different gins provided by Booth’s in a one night only pop-up bar in the “pop up cathedral” set up while the Cathedral was shut for major renovations.
