The climax of the summer months, Manchester Pride Big Weekend returns in August for 72 hours of non-stop partying – and for those who book before Friday 28 February, tickets are available at last year’s price of £16. Though details – and this year’s theme – are yet to be announced, with last summer’s bill featuring the likes of Kate Nash, MKS and Patrick Wolf, you can bet 2014 will be just as exciting and glamour-filled as past events. This year, the parade takes place on Saturday 23 August (no tickets required), with over 100 charismatic floats making their way through the city streets. Elsewhere, there’ll be the usual mix of market stalls offering everything from fashions to rainbow flags, the Lifestyle Expo, exclusive events across the Gay Village’s bars and clubs, all culminating in the spiritual candlelit vigil in Sackville Gardens.
Fri 22 Aug – Mon 25 Aug (Parade Sat 23 Aug), Various locations around gay village, £16 earlybird weekend tickets, FREE entry to Parade, manchesterpride.com
