This month marks a landmark for ¡Viva! Film Festival as it celebrates its 20th year of showcasing the best of Spanish and Latin American cinema. The festival works to embrace rising Spanish-speaking films and directors with a special programme of premieres and special guest Q&As. Although there’s only a few days left, there’s still plenty on offer to expand on your Spanish film knowledge, with highlights including the UK premiere of Catalan film Tasting Menu (pictured, Fri 21 Mar, 6.30pm, £8), where comedy meets cuisine – also featuring a Q&A with director Roger Gual and starring actress Marta Torné – and another outing for ¡Hola Manchester! (Sat 22 Mar, 11am, £7), a Spanish walking tour of Manchester. Elsewhere, the final weekend of the festival also includes the UK premieres of The Passion of Michelangelo (Fri 21, 4pm, £6 & Sat 22, 6.10pm, £8) and Iguana Stew (Sat 22, 8.40pm, £8 & Sun 23, 4pm, £6), before the festival starts its search for the next season’s new talents.
