For the next two and a half weeks, St Ann’s Square will be home to a series of themed markets. Starting today and continuing to Tuesday 27 May, the first week is devoted to vintage and fashion traders – including popular brands such as Blue Rinse and dontbitchstich, who will exhibit their new fashion lines. Then from Wednesday 28 May until Monday 2 June, the market’s theme will be ‘Artisan and Produce’, with a showcase of the best food and crafts from the North West, while Wednesday 3 June until the market’s end on Sunday 8 June sees a ‘Trinkets and Treasures’ takeover, featuring the region’s best designers displaying a wide array of crafts. The final weekend of Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 June will also feature the Manchester Independent Books Market, with up-and-coming poets and authors delivering live readings of their work. Alongside the themed stalls, a conservatory-style marquee will host a changing line-up of food and craft stalls, with Elsie May’s Traditional Tea Rooms providing refreshments throughout. Mango Rays will also be on hand for snacks, smoothies and, of course, Pimms.
