A man of unrelenting spirit and defiance, known as Ai God by his fans, this documentary explores the life of the infamous Chinese artist, Ai Weiwei, and illustrates how he consistently puts his life on the line for what he believes in. Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry is the inside story as told by first-time director Alison Klayman. It’s a detailed portrait of the artist during the time when he was building the Bird’s Nest stadium for the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Klayman gains unprecedented access as she details Ai’s artistic process and very public clashes with the Chinese government. Winner of the Special Jury Prize at Sundance as well as other prestigious film festivals, it’s one to catch before it finishes this week.
