L’Eroica Britannia Festival is taking place this weekend (Fri 20 – Sun 22 Jun) in Bakewell, Derbyshire. This boutique festival has a retro ethos, and aims to celebrate the Best of British. There will be live music from bands and DJs, a fairground, shopping, and street food trucks. The centrepiece of the weekend is a ride through the Peak District National Park on vintage bikes. Almost 2,000 riders will take part, many in period dress. However, you don’t have to be a cycling aficionado to attend; the festival aims to be fun for all, and is family friendly too. Visitors can attends for as many days as they wish. Bakewell is around 80 minutes from Manchester by car. There is also a direct bus, which takes two hours, and the nearest train stations are Buxton and Sheffield, from which there are a frequent bus services to Bakewell.
