The Manchester Art Walk returns for a second outing on Thursday 30 August – this time taking in Manchester Art Gallery, Cornerhouse and Castlefield Gallery. The new bi-monthly event incorporates three hand-picked exhibitions at galleries, venues and pop-up spaces within a close proximity to each other. Starting at 5.30pm, Thursday’s mile-long walk includes El Anatsui’s sculpture In the World But Don’t Know the World? and Barthélémy Toguo’s new Bob Marley-inspired commission Redemption – both at MAG as part of the gallery’s currently We Face Forward exhibition – plus an introduction to AND Festival’s It’s Cool, I’m Good, the first UK solo show of LA-based artist Stanya Kahn, at Cornerhouse. The walk ends at Castlefield gallery, with an introduction to Dave Griffiths’ Babel Fiche, a film that explores the human urge to collect, categorise and remix images. The walk costs £4 and can be booked in advance, via the link below.
