Europe, the second album from Allo Darlin’, richly delivered on the Anglo-Australian indie-pop quartet’s ambition to create music that sounds ‘somewhere between A New England by Kirsty MacColl and Cattle and Cane by The Go-Betweens’. The band have played this venue once already this year but expect many returning ticket-holders eager to relish their lush, hummable melodies, jangly guitars and smart songs of sunny nostalgia and woozy regret. Support from Manchester’s boutique folk-pop outfit Butcher The Bar.
