I never read Dylan Thomas at school; perhaps you did. The Welsh bard has held considerable sway over school curriculums and literary hearts for the past half-century and his masterwork, Under Milk Wood, has been adapted into almost every medium. His work endures – as does his legacy – and the latter of which is the subject of new film Set Fire To The Stars. The film follows a young American poet – portrayed by ghost-faced hobbit Elijah Wood (pictured) – who goes on a retreat with his hero Thomas, played here by Celyn Jones, who also co-wrote the picture. The film is scored and soundtracked by Gruff Rhys, of Super Furry Animals fame. Its theatrical run starts on Friday 21 November, but Cornerhouse is hosting a special post-screening Q&A with Jones on Monday 24 November, which will give DT fans a glimpse in to how the legendary poet was brought to life on the screen.
