After two successful nights at Band on the Wall, the variety show Mad Manc Cabaret is moving to The Dancehouse on Oxford Road. Curated and compered by professional Mancunian Terry Christian, the event naturally features a lot of local talent. Headlining is Bolton’s most famous son Darren Gough, AKA Badly Drawn Boy. Also appearing is Aziz Ibrahim, guitarist with the latter-day Stone Roses and sideman to Paul Weller. Singer Rachel MacFarlane’s work with the dance acts LMC and Loveland made her a million-seller. From slightly further afield is Jun Tzu, a Northern Irish hip-hop artist known for his politically charged lyrics. Rounding out the line-up are up-and-comers The Korsairs and The Marivaux. However, it’s not only about music: there’s also comedy from Kerry Leigh and Marvin Cheeseman.
