Boston band Krill come to town this month, bringing with them music described by fans as ‘Modest Mouse on pot’. The three-piece, who feature Ezra Furman’s brother Jonah on bass and vocal duties, have been picking up plenty of fans and plaudits since the release of their second album, Lucky Leaves, in 2013. The follow-up, this month’s A Distant Fist Unclenching, has been described by Pitchfork as their best album to date – ‘bigger, brighter and bolder’ than what came before. Featuring Furman’s uniquely urgent vocals cutting through over the trio’s dark, angular rock, it’s little a winning formula. Support comes from Fun Boys and Neil Jarvis.
