Supper with Simon Napier-Bell at Old Granada Studios

The kind folks from Band on the Wall are presenting an evening with the legendary music industry insider Simon Napier-Bell. The event will be held at the Old Granada Studios building, near Spinningfields. Napier-Bell began his career in the swinging 60s as a music editor, where he worked with Burt Bacharach. He also dabbled in songwriting, penning the lyrics to Dusty Springfield’s You Don’t Have To Say You Love Me. However, he is best known for his long career as a highly successful manager, representing bands including The Yardbirds, T. Rex, Japan, Ultravox and Wham!. Napier-Bell has written several books about his life and career, and will be reading from his latest, entitled ‘Ta-Ra-Ra-Boom-De-Ay: The dodgy business of popular music’. He will also be fielding audience questions afterwards, should you have a burning query to fire at him. Attendees should expect anecdotes and gossip galore. Supper is provided by the Northern Quarter’s own Teacup.
