Win film tickets: Industrial Soundtrack from the Urban Decay screening at Band on the Wall

Having so far arranged screenings of films featuring rap, rock, reggae and dub, the Film Club programmers at Band on the Wall turn their cinematic gaze to industrial music on Saturday (9 May), courtesy of the Manchester premiere of Industrial Soundtrack from the Urban Decay. The documentary features the views of a range of musicians from the 1970s onwards, whose musical output reflected the sounds of industry going on all around. From Throbbing Gristle to Cabaret Voltaire, this branch of music echoed in cities around the world with the common threads of post-industrial urbanity tying together politically minded creatives from students to factory workers, who moved from DIY, counter cultural expression into a more popular realm. The film documents this evolution through the stories of those who lived it. The directors, Amélie Ravalec and Travis Collins, will both be in the building to answer your questions after the film. We have a pair of tickets up for grabs.
