Murder by Death at the Deaf Institute

Indiana quintet Murder By Death are set to perform their gothic alt-country rock at Deaf Institute later this month. Formed at the turn of the millennium from the fertile US indie rock soil, Murder By Death will be touring on the back of their seventh album, Big Dark Love, which was released this year with help from a Kickstarter campaign that attracted presale support to the tune of $278,486. The album is their second with Chicago label Bloodshot Records, having previously worked with indie imprints Vagrant, TEAM AV, Eyeball and even their own Tent Show Records, part of the East West group. Named after the 1976 private eye comedy film, they’ve worked with My Chemical Romance’s Gerard Way and Thursday’s Geoff Rickly en route to their current popularity, and are now likened to both Spiritualized and The Black Angels.
