Fri 22 May – Dub Smugglers @ Antwerp Mansion
Dub Smugglers have put together a lineup of some of Manchester’s finest reggae heads for their last event before breaking up for summer. Jahtari-associated vocalist El Fata is joined by local legend Kuntri Ranks and a whole host of capable selectors and vocalists. All early bird tickets have sold out, so with just general release remaining, swift action is advised.

Sat 23 May – Electric Chair (pictured) @ The Roadhouse
As The Roadhouse enters its final week of existence, an old favourite returns to its former home. Electric Chair is a clubnight with an influence felt all over the city, even in its current state of semi-retirement and this is going to be a very special one. It’s already sold out, but if an opportunity to see The Unabombers do their thing one last time at The Roadhouse comes up, don’t hesitate to take it.
Tickets: sold out.
Sat 23 May – Relapse @ Sound Control
It’s a DnB spectacular at Sound Control this Saturday, with two of the biggest in the game headlining for Relapse. Belgian Alix Perez has become one of the go-to guys in his field, with releases on legendary labels such as Metalheadz and Soul:R. Skeptical has seen his music released on the likes of Exit and Ingredients and is bound to be a huge draw for the discerning Manchester raver. Room 2 features Red Eye HiFI among others.

Sun 24 May – Deekline & Scratch Perverts @ Joshua Brooks
It’ll be a party at Joshua Brooks this bank holiday, as mainstays of the UK dance scene Deekline and the Scratch Perverts have been invited down by Shaped and Riddim Culture. Expect bass, breaks and probably quite a lot of silliness. Support comes in the shape of Jurassik and Final Conflict of the Hot Cakes Records crew.

PS: News just in of a get-together at First Chop Brewing Arm on Saturday night (23 May, 7.30pm-1am). It’s the official afterparty for Manchester Brewery Expo but everyone is invited, and it’s free to enter. DJs are yet to be confirmed but if the venue’s party-tastic performance at Sounds from the Other City 2015 festival was any indicator, this is likely to be a fun event. Former Roadhouse booking manager, Lee Gorton, has just joined the venue so watch this space.
