Top 3: Bank holiday events ft. Pride, Levy Beer Fete + Night & Day

It’s time for the last proper bank holiday of 2015 (those ones at Christmas don’t count), so make the most of it with the best that Manchester has to show for itself.

Levy Beer Fete ft. Quizimodo
Shebeen, GRUB and Blackjack have been throwing some pretty strong parties together lately, and this bank holiday weekend they’re teaming up once again for a beer fete at the Klondyke Club near Levenshulme station. Along with keg and cask ales, wines, spirits, ciders, street food from Parmstar, Juicy Kitchen and Honest Crust, there’s also live music, DJs, carnival games, children’s activities and, on Sunday, a quiz from the brilliant Quizimodo folk.

Night & All Dayer
Night & Day Cafe’s famous All Dayer returns for the August bank holiday, with nine live acts on the bill including Britpop/shoegaze outfit Sulk, five-piece Hey Sholay, Manchester band Gorj, Salfordian psychedelia from Saturn Grove, local boys Richard Lomax and The Tontine, Salford trio Stalagmites and tonnes more. There will also be DJs filing the gaps throughout the day.

Manchester Pride
The August bank holiday is practically synonymous with Manchester Pride, the city’s huge celebration of LGBTQ culture that peaks with a big parade on Saturday. But throughout the weekend the partying potential is rife with Friday’s queer Pride party Bender Blender at Bangkok Bar, featuring three of the city’s best club nights, Bollox, Dandy and The Most Deperessing Night of Your Life – Power Ballad Disco. Meanwhile, on Sunday, you’ll also find a Homoelectric Bank Holiday Showdown at Factory, where the venue’s three floors will be taken over by special guests Prosumer (pictured), Mark Seven and Shake Yer Dix, who’ll be going head-to-head with Homoelectric residents.
