Nodding to London’s no-reservations burger bar Meat Liquor, Manchester had (and will soon have again, we reckon) its own version of this trendy concept. For a few months earlier this year, Almost Famous dished out burgers at the weekends from a ‘pop up’ venue at the top of High Street, next to Keku Moku (it’s owned by the people behind Socio Rehab and Home Sweet Home). This tactic proved so popular that people queued all the way down to the Bay Horse, just to get a bite. We suspect this venue is going to re-open as a burger and cocktail joint soon, but if you can’t wait, for today only, you can get one of 100 FREE burgers from 6.15pm. If you want in, you’d best head down there now.
