Sidekick Comedy | Via | Mon 26 Oct | 7.30pm | £2
Sidekick is always a fun night, thanks in no small part to em cee Kate McCabe and the air of ease she establishes during her short sets to bracket the monthly proceedings in the village. Tonight she welcomes surreal one-line merchant Dave Williams, Matt Fong and the weird and wonderful Cheekykita. A solid, eclectic night of comedy for just a couple of quid.

One Man Breaking Bad | The Lowry | Tue 27 Oct | 8pm | £21.50
Fed up with all your mates banging on about how you just have to watch Walter White and Jesse Pinkman’s meth-adventures? Or you just want to fill the void in your life until the next series of Better Call Saul? Well look no further than the hilarious hour and a half recap of the whole of Breaking Bad by LA actor Miles Allen. Or just go binge-watch the whole series at home. It’s a pretty decent show.

Rob Beckett | The Lowry | Fri 30 Oct | 8pm | £17
Famed for his lack of pretension and his ludicrously beaming Colgate smile, Rob Beckett brings his Edinburgh show Mouth of the South to The Lowry. When any comedian describes themselves as being ‘mouthy’ it usually translates as ‘abrasive’ – but Beckett sidesteps that with an extreme level of likeability and an almost approachable style, easily bantering with crowds to add to his easily accessible material.

Rob Newman (pictured) | The Lowry | Sat 31 Oct | 8pm | £18
Cerebral comedy at its finest and most literal, Rob Newman volunteered for a brain-imaging experiment and emerged with more questions than answers. Focusing his musings into this new tour The Brain Show looks at whether these scans can read our minds as well as our brains via use of his specially constructed MRI hat.
