Vintage Kilo Sale at Manchester MMU Student Union

Roll up, roll up – for one day only, Britain’s biggest vintage fair arrives for Manchester’s leg of the tour. For its first event at brand new venue Manchester Metropolitan University’s Student Union, The Vintage Kilo Sale is returning to the delights of vintage fashion aficionados. A collaboration between Europe’s largest vintage wholesaler Glass Onion and the highly regarded Judy’s Affordable Vintage Fair, the concept is simple. You can scour the amazing five tonnes of stock the fair has to offer, pick out your favourite togs and pay just £15 per kilo. Typically, that’s around four items, from coats to cords, blazers to brogues and handbags to hairpins. It’s the perfect chance to bag a bargain from clothes spanning the decades, from the 1960s to the 1990s. And the fact that clothes from the 1990s is now a widely accepted vintage category does not make us feel old at all. Ahem. Anyway – quality, high; prices, low. Championed by Stylist, Time Out and ASOS as a revolutionary way to shop, founder of the fair Judy Berger speaks of ‘taking retro back to its roots’, giving shoppers vintage menswear and womenswear that is affordable, eclectic and always ‘worth the weight’.
