Guardian Live presents this special event at The Whitworth which features acclaimed novelist John Irving in conversation with Jeanette Winterson. Often lauded as one of America’s best writers, Irving has written 14 novels over the course of a career that began in the late 1960s. Celebrated works include The World According to Garp, A Prayer for Owen Meany and The Cider House Rules. His most recent book The Avenue of Mysteries was released last year. Over the course of the evening, Irving will read from and discuss his latest work in conversation with writer, broadcaster, and Professor of Creative Writing at Manchester University, Jeanette Winterson.
