As tour support for heavy metal comic Steve Hughes and wrestling legend Mick Foley (Mankind/Cactus Jack/Dude Love) Sully O’Sullivan (pic) has marked himself as quite the alternative comedian. The New Zealander then is perfect headline fodder for Manchester’s Alternative Comedy Emporium this Monday at Kosmonaut. Alongside Beat the Frog World Series winner Jay Hampson and Magner’s Best New Talent winner Sophie Willan this is quite the night for emerging talent.

Though the word ‘alternative’ doesn’t feature in their legend, in it’s short few months of operation ‘The Delightful Sausage’ has shown itself to be more alternative than a Bernie Sanders-Jeremy Corbyn squishfest. Offering up their strange this month is highly rated money saving expert Ben Clover and low key nihilist comic Sunil Patel, alongside Manchester’s weirder and wilder acts such as Amy Gledhill, Jayne Edwards and Jack Evans. All glued together by the small mouthed charm of Chris Cantrill.

Manchester’s favourite sketchual dealers Gein’s Family Giftshop bring their first nationwide tour back home as they show off their ‘trophy collection’. A mix of skits from their first tour Edinburgh shows, both winning rave reviews and the first garnering a best newcomer nomination in 2014. Recently announcing they won’t be heading up to the Fringe for a third year in a row so this may be your only chance to get your fix of scatological sketch play from the P.E. kit wearing threesome.

Take a trip through the tangled mind of Tony Law this Saturday evening, the Canadian contrarian comes packed with awards, TV appearances and a brain that’s not quite like any other comic in the country. In this latest show ‘Frillemorphesis’ he looks at the problems of middle age as Tony himself starts to question his own mortality but for the most part it is his unhinged world view where everything seems made up on the spot (and may well be) that has fans clambering to see what new thought springs he might shoot forth.
