The Northern Quarter’s Common bar is hosting four events this week, all of which are 100 PER CENT free. The fun starts with a Colouring Club on Wednesday, followed by Pica Post zine launch party and sizzlin’ DJ sets from OneFiveEight collective and Jeff O’Toole over the weekend. Fancy taking part in a creative meet-up where you can try your hand at illustrating, doodling, or just hanging out? Colouring Club is for everyone, whether you are an artist or haven’t picked up a pencil since primary school. Have a go at drawing, colouring, collage, cutting out, sketching – and much more. This month’s theme is the collaborative surrealist drawing game, ‘Exquisite Corpse’ – where everyone takes turns to draw different heads, bodies and legs. Colouring Club is run by colouring enthusiasts, Camille Smithwick and Amy Minto.

Pica~Post fanzine’s 10th issue is out now. The new zine has a theme of ‘space’ and includes an interview with Reebok founder Joe Foster, an article about French space-rock, plenty of drawings of aliens and a few other bits that should hopefully expand your mind. Tuck into a fun launch party with DJs, free samples from local brewery Cloudwater from 7pm until late.
