Last Chance to see Burgess and Chaplin at Burgess Foundation
This exhibition, entitled ‘The Funniest Man Alive’, shuts its doors this Tuesday. It covers the early career of Charlie Chaplin as a music hall performer: One who was enthusiastically covered by Anthony Burgess when he was working as an arts journalist. Featuring photography, newspaper clippings and other documents, this is a fascinating history of entertainment. See our preview for the full scoop.

IWD Walking Tour at City Centre
Tuesday marks International Women’s Day, a time when we look at the historical struggles women have faced in the fight for equality and reflect on the mountain of issues still in front of us. Manchester has a long history with the Women’s Liberation, all of which is explored in this walking tour of the city: Not just covering the the suffragettes and the campaigners, but many of the female scientists, academics and creatives that have helped make this city great. A walk later in the week has already sold out, so it’s well worth booking a spot on this one early.

Untamed! Rock Night at Rebellion (pictured)
If you’re in the mood for a spot of midweek rocking, then this may be the one for you. Untamed is a free night of live rock and metal and this instalment features the talents of: Funk fusionists Emperor Phunk, hard rockers Black Cat Bones, garage rockers Grande Royale and prog rockers Exit Pursued. Best of all, with its relatively early finish, there’s plenty of time to go out to Satan’s afterwards if you’re really feeling it.
