Manchester’s food news this week includes a second opening for Black Milk Cereal Dive, a rumoured move for V Revolution vegan bar, free arcade games and more at 17 Below bar, an Indian and Malay themed supper club at the Kitchens and special beer-matched supper club at Brewdog.

Black Milk Cereal Dive opening second NQ café
Building on the success of the flagship Afflecks spot, Manchester’s original cereal café Black Milk is expanding. Opening on Oldham Street, the menu will once again include imported and unusual cereals, as well as desserts and shakes such as the Triple Salted Caramel Cheesecake Stack. With an option to have your selected cereal served in an edible chocolate bowl, this is one for the sweet toothed among us. Watch this space – it should be up and running in the next couple of months. The original Black Milk Cereal Dive has just expanded too, with everything fully finished this Saturday (26 Mar).

Rumoured: V Revolution (pictured) to move to opposite Yard & Coop on Edge Street
The beating, independent heart of the Northern Quarter is set to expand soon if what we hear is true: V Revolution, the vegan burger bar on Oldham Street is set to move to Edge Street sometime in the next two months, making way for the new Black Milk Cereal bar (mentioned above). What the heck, it’s like foodie Tetris in this part of Manchester city centre right now.

Free arcade games at 17 Below bar
Sure, it’s been open a while, but the newest addition to the subterranean bar scene in Manchester, 17 Below may well be Manchester’s deepest bar. Situated beneath Dogs’n’Dough, the 1980s themed joint offers pool and free arcade games. With two full-size American pool tables and a collection of vintage games machines, there is a themed cocktail list to match. Head down for a limoncello Pucker Man or a rum Fistful of Quarters.

Indian + Malay supperclub at The Kitchens
Nasi Lemak and Chaat Cart are joining forces to bring a supperclub to Spinningfields’ The Kitchens. Combining Indian and Malay street food, a selection of starters will be followed by tiered tiffin mains, dessert and chai. Local beer Shindigger is available on draft alongside others plus prosecco and soft drinks.

Food-matched Easter Beer Dinner at Brewdog
Brewdog are hosting a four-course dinner, pairing beers with a tailored menu. The beer choices are being kept a secret until the evening, but the menu includes some seriously punchy flavours in dishes like marinated pear and apple salad, confit lamb, jugged hare and a rhubarb and custard Easter egg to finish. Round off the Easter bank holiday weekend.
