‘Set your alarms’ is the rallying call from the Not Quite Light weekend, which runs from Fri 1-Sun 3 April. A product of local artist Simon Buckley’s year old Not Quite Light blog, he photographs the north and eastern edge of Manchester city centre at dawn, exploring themes of regeneration and heritage. Over the Easter bank holiday, a range of talks, photography courses, walking tours and collaborations will be happening with other Manchester artists and guides. Events include a dawn photography trip, a guided tour with social commentator Emma Fox, and breakfast with the dead from the Angel Meadows graveyard with live music and historian Simon Ward. Celebrate the long weekend and support the fundraising evening at Redbank Co in aid of homeless charity Fareshare, with live music, DJs and food from The Real Junk Food Project’s Mary-Ellen McTague on Saturday 2 April (5.30pm until late).
