Film screening + Q&A: I Am Belfast with dir. Mark Cousins at HOME

After truly establishing himself in the insightful behemoth 15-hour documentary, The Story of Film, Mark Cousins once again returns to our screens with I Am Belfast. Although critically respected as a writer, critic and filmmaker, Cousins latest cinematic outing delves into the history surrounding his home town. The city itself is close to director’s heart evidently, even if he left during the height of its own troubles. Clearly, the film is a love letter to a beloved and highly problematic place. However, continuing their recent success in holding Q&A’s with Danny Boyle, to name but a few, HOME MCR are staging another glorious night for any cinephile and culture lover to query one of Britain’s most prominent filmic figures. Expect a powerfully aesthetic and heightened visceral experience rarely witnessed. One that will combine the past, the present and the future of a city into unity.
