In just seven years of operation The Invisible Dot have managed to cement themselves as the benchmark for alternative comedy in the UK. Stop by at their King’s Cross on any given night and you’ll catch some of the biggest and brightest in comedy from stalwarts like Stewart Lee and Bridget Christie to the new exciting hopefuls like Lolly Adefope, Pat Cahill and Manchester Wire faves Gein’s Family Giftshop. To redress the balance of London centric alternative heavy weights the Dot are bringing a night of some of their favourites to the grandeur of the Opera House for one night only. Compered by the excellent Aisling Bea, she will introduce three heavyweights of the British comedy scene in Adam Buxton, poet savant Tim Key and Uncle star/writer Nick Helm this would be a must see if it featured only one of these top acts. To get all four together is a ludicrous bonus.
UPDATE: Adam Buxton will still be headlining this event, and the line-up will now be completed by Adam Riches, Liam Williams and Mae Martin.
Thu 26 May, Manchester Opera House, 3 Quay Street, M3 3HP. Tel: 0844 871 3018, 7.30pm from £20, www.theinvisibledot.com
