Crowhurst at Fuel Café Bar
This vegetarian café in Withington plays host to experimental L.A. noise outfit Crowhurst on Friday. They’re the pet project of musician Jay Gambit, who’s released over 40 records under the Crowhurst name: Every track brimming with grimy electro and impenetrable black metal. Gambit et al are supported by industrial group Caïna, apocalyptic classical aficionados Ritual Object, hard electronica band Roases and black metallists extraordinaire Hexagon Trail. This is guaranteed to be a night of intense sound.

Intransigence at Chuck Gallery (pictured)
The oft-overlooked Chuck Gallery in Longsight is hosting this exhibition of work by Nigerian sculptor Okey Ibeabuchi and portraitist Joel Otuedor. Entitled ‘Intransigence’, it’s one of the first collaborative exhibitions at the young gallery, which is dedicated to championing African art in the city. Ibeabuchi’s sculptures on show are made from recycled and found materials. Otuedor is well-known in his native Lagos for his provocative nudes, a number of which are on display here. The exhibition is only running for a couple of weeks, so it’s worth getting in while you still can.
Sat 14 May – Sat 28 May, Chuck Gallery, 166 Plymouth Grove, Manchester, M13 0AF. Tel: 0161 222 8688, 11am – 5pm, www.facebook.com

Panini Sticker Swap at National Football Museum

This event at the National Football Musuem – where else – on Sunday invites collectors to come along and got-got-need their way to a complete set of Panini Euro 2016 stickers. If you’re a more serious collector of football memorabilia, then it might be worth dropping by the day before between 11am and 4pm, where the National Football Collection will be on hand to provide a free valuation of any collectibles you might have to hand.
