Having appeared at The Comedy Store last year as part of his book launch he now brings characters from his short lived but much loved sketch show ‘Limmy’s Show’ to The Lowry for a night of off beat observations and cretinous characters. The closest thing die hard fans will get to fourth series of the cult BBC Scotland show.

After another stellar Edinburgh showing in which they were rightly lauded for both their technical whizz-bangery and their comedy/music timing, this will almost certainly be the last time you get to see the wonder of Foxdog Studios for the price of nothing at all. Combining their musical dreams with their down to earth humour and knowledge of all things computerfied Foxdog create a world of their own and perform possibly the only show where smart phone use is actively encouraged. BBC 6 music’s resident poet Murray Lachlan Young brings his evening of satirical soliloquy to The Lowry. His hybrid of stand up and non-traditional poetry have made him one of the most recognizable voices in UK stanza. Now with new book ‘How Freakin’ Zeitgeist Are You?’ he proves once more that he is an important and hilarious mind that is still as necessary as when he first arrived on the scene in the cabaret venues of London back in the early 90s.

Pick of the Fringe | The Dancehouse | Fri 16 Sep | 8pm | £17.50/15
With two nominees for best show from this year’s Fringe, as well as last year’s winner and the previous year’s champion you’d be hard pushed to find more of a Fringe centric line up in the country. Australian absurdist Sam Simmons, 5 time nominee James Acaster, master satirist Nish Kumar and left field obscurest John Kearns make up a stellar line up of comedy you’d struggle to put together even if you were in Edinburgh in August. This is a must for those that missed out on heading to the Scottish capital last month as well as those who want to see the best in modern stand up all in one venue.
