Gamers Meetup at Dive NQ
Basement bar Dive plays host to this bumper gaming event on Wednesday. There’s a range of consoles on offer running FIFA, Rocket League and Street Fighter tournaments, and a HTC Vive virtual reality headset available for you to check out if you’ve not yet dipped into the blossoming world of VR gaming. Of particular interest is a presentation by local indie developers Prospect Games, who’ll be showing off their new platformer Unbox. If four hours of gaming is too much for you, there’ll also be screening of Mad Max Fury Road in the back room

The Dream Life at Stage & Radio (pictured)
Local four-piece The Dream Life put out their first single Lonely earlier this month. It’s a pulsing, sample-heavy slice of house, and will doubtless be the crowning piece in their forthcoming live set at Port Street’s Stage & Radio this Thursday. There’s still guest DJs to be announced, but in any case it’s a great free opportunity to check out an interesting new band in an interesting new venue.
