Art exhibition: Tracey Eastham at Manchester Paper Gallery

Influenced by the Tower of Babel, Manchester based artist Tracey Eastham has created an exhibition of intricate gold paper cut-outs displayed as silhouettes, in bell jars, or arranged as installations. The imagery that these cut outs represent has been sourced by Tracey from scraps of cultural identity, found in science fiction literature, English landscape painting and heritage publications, meticulously realised as delicate scenes. The Tower of Babel, a symbolic story of cultures working together only to be divided by language is used here in alignment with contemporary society, a scattering of cultures and the ramifications of a post-Brexit world.
