Twenty-five years on, US alt-rockers Bash & Pop are to reform for a tour that will see a comeback LP of feel good frenzies released via Fat Possum. Originally the phoenix that rose from the ashes of The Replacements’ split in 1991, Bash & Pop have repeated the feat for their forthcoming summer tour and are set to celebrate the rebirth with a run of shows, including Manchester’s Deaf Institute. As well as ushering in a reissue of debut album Friday Night Is Killing Me via Rhino, the resurrection has spurred on ringleader Tommy Stinson to pen a hatful of new anthems that can win over a whole new generation. To be in with a chance of winning two tickets to the show, simply email competitions [at] manchesterwire [dot] co [dot] uk with a subject of ‘Bash & Pop Competition’, + your name, age, Twitter handle and phone number. Competition closes at 9am Wed 28 Jun. The winner will be informed by Twitter later that day. This competition has now ended.
