King Street’s Burger & Lobster hosts a Zelman Meats pop-up this summer. Until 30 July, Zelman is open behind a red curtain each Wednesday to Sunday evening. The steak house, which currently operates one restaurant in Soho, is part of the same group that runs Burger & Lobster and Goodman. The pop-up is serving a different cut of meat each week for the duration of the run, including Australian strip loin, smoked short ribs and sliced Brazilian picanha – the star on our preview visit. Starter options include a creamy buratta, Jersey rock oysters, tuna tartare and tiger prawn tempura, while sides include black truffle and parmesan chips, button mushrooms and roasted courgettes with an elegant dusting of feta and pinenuts. It’s a short but satisfying menu, while desserts include a dense chocolate brownie and everyone’s favourite: Eton mess.
