The top ten most adored modern artists in the world will lead this year’s Buy Art Fair, including Lowry, Banksy and Damien Hirst. The fair is the largest of its kind in the north, and gives a voice to new talent alongside established names. For its tenth birthday in its brand new home of Manchester Central, the Buy Art Fair has announced ten star artworks bound to bring in the crowds. Fancy something special for your home? The Royal Academy of Arts will present two big hitters: Tracey Emin’s etching ‘So I Left You’ and Cornelia Parker’s photographic transfer ‘Beautiful Glass (Broken)’. Among the artists brought by local exhibitor Papa’s Print Shop are LS Lowry and his iconic ‘The Football Match’, Antony Gormley’s stark ‘Horizon Field’ and the instantly recognisable child’s play Banksy graffito ‘No Ball Games’. You’ll also get to see pieces by Damien Hirst, David Shrigley, Barbara Hepworth, Peter Blake and Yoko Ono’s little-known ink experiment ‘Franklin Summer’. The Buy Art Fair features plenty of rising talent too, and runs alongside galleries from across the UK exhibiting for The Manchester Contemporary. This grand art celebration kicks off with a VIP preview on Friday 27 October before opening to the public the following day.
