Recent addition to Altrincham, Toast is a new cafe serving everything (well almost everything) on toast. It’s the combined vision of co-owners Justin Orange (formerly of Teacup Kitchen) and chef Edward Carr (formerly of Aumbry and The Fat Duck). Situated in the Goose Green area of Altrincham, the breakfast menu is available all day and includes classic eggs Royale, Benedict and Florentine, as well as black pudding, poached egg and crispy bacon on crumpets (for a change). Lunchtime options include chicken thigh with honey yoghurt and rocket and cheese on toast with baked egg and truffled oil as well as a couple of ‘toast-less’ things such as salads like avocado, red peppers spinach and pine nuts, or butternut squash, thyme, honey and goats cheese. Sweet toast options include French toast with salted caramel and crème fraiche, or chocolate and hazelnut spread on toast with melted marshmallow. The interior looks delightful too.
