With a line-up that is sure to warm the psychedelic cockles of even the coldest of hearts, Soup Kitchen and the always excellent Grey Lantern present a night of live music featuring some of the best wig-out psych from the region. Headliners Hookworms have forged a sound that has made them one of the most talked about live bands of the year; full of meteoric beats, hypnotic bass lines, walls of shimmering riffs and echoing banshee vocals, they are a musical love affair waiting to happen. Joining them are one of Manchester’s most exciting new bands, Kult Country (pictured), an outfit who, although shrouded in mystery, have mesmerised audiences at their rare live shows to date, with their heavy, swirling guitar psych-rock and kaleidoscopic arrangements. Opening the bill will be the much-loved Northern Quarter Boys Choir and Francis Lung, the new project by Wu Lyf’s Tom McClung.
