The wait is finally over as Idle Hands throw open the doors of their new Dale Street premises and welcome us in for an expertly made cup of coffee and slice of homemade cake. Following a run of bad luck in 2017, the good people of Manchester rallied together at a Grub Food Fair fundraiser to help Idle Hands get back on its feet. For a coffee shop so loved by the community that they wouldn’t let it go under, it’s no surprise that the space has been kitted out with a little help from the locals – furniture has been designed and made by the people of Fred Aldous and Plant NOMA studio. It’s the coffee that really garnered Idle Hands a following though, and for good reason. These guys take their cup of joe very seriously with a constantly changing menu of carefully selected speciality roasters on offer (including Koppi, Worksop and Dark Arts). Match your perfect flat white with a slice of their sell-out chocolate orange and pistachio cream pie.
Now open. Idle Hands, 35 Dale Street, Manchester, M1 2HF. Opening times vary, www.idlehandscoffee.com
