Craft & food fair: A Good Market at Sadler’s Yard
Start the bank holiday as you mean to go on, with a pint in one hand and slice of pizza in the other. On Saturday 5 May, the Sadler’s Yard sun trap welcomes local producers for a craft and food fair. Traders setting up stall on the day include I Knead Pizza (no prizes for guessing what they’ve got cooking), Kenyan grilled meat from Nyama Choma and AfroBrit fusion burgers from BON Street Food. The Pilcrow Pub and their ever-changing list of guest beers have got the drinks covered, and tunes come courtesy of Better Days.

Peck & Yard have been frying up their South Korean-style fried chicken to an enthusiastic Chorlton crowd since March. The concept is simple – a mix and match style menu of fried main, sauce and side for under a tenner. Now open in the Northern Quarter: Bluebird Tea Co
Specialist tea shop, Bluebird Tea Co have launched their first shop in the North, with the opening of their seventh branch on Church Street. Their stores are known for their ‘wall of tea’ with over 70 varieties of loose leaf blends, and their team of ‘tea mixologists’ to make you the perfect cuppa. A far cry from your usual PG Tips brew, varieties include coconut milk oolong, mint pistachio black tea and rice pudding and jam white tea. The store will also host regular Tea Blending workshops where you can try your hand at tea tasting and blending, even making some cocktails along the way.

Grub street food fair moves to Mayfield Depot from the start of May
Grub food fair make the move to their summer home at Mayfield depot, re-launching over the May bank holiday weekend. The food fair closes up shop at their winter Temperance Street base and trades the arches for the old railway station sun trap next to Piccadilly. The revamped space has more room for stalls, and an extended covered area to cater for any passing summer showers. To celebrate the start of the season, Grub host an opening party featuring DJs, guest beers, and of course, the best street food traders the North-West can muster including Howlin Tacos, The Otto-Men, Parm Star and Hun Street Kitchen.
