On display are illustrations by vaunted local DJ Mr. Scruff, whose work you might have seen adorning his well-known albums, or any of the quirky products available through his website. Blake Awakes Workshop at John Rylands Library (pictured)
On Tuesday, the John Rylands Library hosts a special workshop on the work and legacy of the poet and painter William Blake. Using materials from the library’s archives, which includes prints made by Blake in his work as a commercial engraver, this workshop looks at both how his work influenced future art, and how this influence was reinvented again and again by each subsequent generation of artists. The event is free to attend and open to all, but spaces are limited and booking ahead through Eventbrite is essential.

4×4 a the Burgess Foundation
The International Anthony Burgess Foundation hosts 4×4 this Wednesday evening. Billed as a TED-talk style event, four speakers from radically different fields are invited along to give a short speech on their subject of expertise. For this installment, they’ve got urban planner Victoria Okoye, grassroots organiser Sandhya Sharma, freelance artist Lauren Sagar and architect Danni Kerr. Each speaker will be providing their own take on the chosen subject of ‘creation’. Drinks and snack are available for purchase on the night.

Peep Show Quiz at Font Fallowfield
The Font in Fallowfield are putting a twist on their regular quiz this Thursday, by offering a quiz based around the Mitchell and Webb sitcom Peep Show. Running for an impressive 12 years, the show charted the trials and tribulations of flatmates Mark and Jeremy, and is packed with recurring in-jokes, one-off characters and memorable gags. If you’re one of those people who can pick out these memorable gags, then you could be in with a chance of scooping a prize, which includes bar treats and gifts themed around the show. The bar will also be offering food and cocktails on theme, and whilst not technically free to enter, it is priced at a very reasonable £1 per person, with proceeds going to Meningitis Now.
